Jane Reväe McWhirter is a visual artist from Saskatoon, SK which is on Treaty 6 Territory. Jane received her BFA in Studio Arts from Concordia University in Montreal, majoring in painting and ceramics.
Jane creates as an outlet, channeling emotion into her work while exploring a multitude of mediums. Jane's work often involves themes of healing, vulnerability, connection, personal growth, overcoming trauma, issues of mental health, feminism, nature and the occult. Jane's work often features women experiencing a wide array of emotions; wanting to capture a small glimpse of what it means to be a strong woman embracing her authentic self and overcoming whatever comes her way.
Witch & Altar
In the past, powerful women have been demonized, categorized as witches, suppressed, tortured and controlled. Witches are not evil, nor vengeful, as they are traditionally portrayed. A witch is a woman in her power, in touch with herself, the earth, and the universe.
I've commissioned a few pieces from Jane, including a poster for a recent even that exceeded my expectations! Would definitely recommend and Jane is super flexible for any needs for personal or professional commissions, if you're looking for something unique.
